69th (South Lincolnshire) Regiment Officer’s Shoulder Belt Plate c. 1840 - 1855, a fine quality example, the rectangular burnished gilt back plate with overlays comprising a multi-rayed beaded silver star and gilt mounts being the crown, laurel sprays and four battle honours, in the centre a circle ‘South Lincoln Regt’ and a domed central disc in silver with gilt numerals ‘LXIX’, complete with both hook and stud fasteners and the original chamoix liner, the topmost ray of the silver star lacking approximately 5 ‘beads’ otherwise very good condition £800-1200
This lot was sold as part of a special collection, The Collection of Militaria to Welsh Regiments formed by the Late Llewellyn Lord.
