Henry Moore was born in Norwich in 1862, and attested for the Rifle Brigade at Beverley, Yorkshire, on 31 October 1881, having previously served in the 3rd Battalion, East Yorkshire Regiment. Posted to the 3rd Battalion, and advanced to the rank of Sergeant Bugler, he was discharged on 30 October 1902, after 21 years’ service.
