William Marshall was born in the Parish of St Margaret’s, Cork, and attested for the 69th Regiment at Rochester, Kent, on 15 January 1852, a servant by trade, aged 19 years 3 months. He served overseas in the East Indies, 6 years 5 months, in Canada, 3 years 3 months (no medal entitlement), and in Bermuda for 8 months. He was discharged on termination of his second period of limited engagement while serving with the Militia on 28 January 1873. He was awarded the L.S. & G.C. medal on 16 December 1870. Sold with copied discharge papers.
