BRITISH BANKNOTES, Miscellaneous, Bank of Engraving, Flash Note, Five Pounds, 29 April 1840, for Self & Co, mounted in glazed frame, with modern annotation on back suggesting note came from ‘The Gate Hangs Well’ public house in Nottingham. Some foxing, otherwise good fine to very fine £150-200
