France, La Grande Source de Vittel, c.1928, a uniface bronze plaque by F.P. Niclausse, naked female figure sat in clouds, overseeing a jug from which water flows over a globe, 76 x 50mm. Very fine, rare; set onto a marble base, the date 24 Juin 1937 inked on bottom; the whole contained in an official green fitted case by Vittel, a most attractive souvenir (£40-60)

The casino and baths at Vittel (dép. Vosges) were built by the French architect Jean-Louis Charles Garnier (1825-98) in 1882; this piece was evidently acquired by a previous owner during a holiday spent at Vittel in 1937
