Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 2 clasps, Cape Colony, Driefontein (8317 Pte. G. Denmark, Cldstm. Gds.) nearly extremely fine £100-140

George Denmark was born in Norwich, Norfolk. A Labourer by occupation, he attested for the Coldstream Guards at Norwich on 13 January 1891, aged 19 years, 7 months. With them he served at Home until transferred to the Army Reserve in January 1898. Recalled to the Colours in October 1899, he served in South Africa, October 1899-July 1900 and April-July 1902. With copied roll extracts showing entitlement to the additional clasp ‘South Africa 1902’.
