Indian Mutiny 1857-59, no clasp (Wm. Bryant, 1st Bn. 23rd R.W. Fusrs.) contact marks, about very fine £160-200

William Bryant was born in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. A Labourer by occupation, he attested for the 23rd Royal Welsh Fusiliers at Woolwich on 17 January 1856, aged 18 years. He declared that he had enrolled in the Queen’s Own Light Infantry Militia on 4 September 1855. He served in the East Indies for over 8 years. Discharged at Dublin on 20 January 1877. At the time of his discharge he was in possession of the Indian Mutiny Medal with clasp for Lucknow; the L.S. & G.C. and five Good Conduct Badges. With copied service papers on paper and C.D.
