Private James Henniker, 1st battalion Manchester Regiment died on 17.9.1943, aged 26 years. He was buried in the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, Thailand. After the war, the graves of those who died during the construction of the notorious Burma-Siam Railway were transferred from camp burial grounds and isolated sites along the railway to one of three maintained cemeteries at Chungkai or Kanchanaburi in Thailand or Thanbyuzayat in Burma.
