Army L.S.G.C., V.R., large letter reverse (William Winter, Rifle Brigade) fitted rather crudely with later scroll suspension, good fine £60-80

William Winter was born in Dartford and enlisted into the Rifle Brigade on 19 October 1837. He served 6 years in Malta and Corfu, and 4 years in the Cape of Good Hope, gaining the medal for the 2nd Kaffir War. He was discharged at Winchester on 10 March 1859, having received his L.S. & G.C. medal in October 1857. Sold with copy discharge papers.
