Private Alfred Goodwin, 2nd battalion King’s Own Royal Regiment, was killed in action in Syria on 11.7.1941, aged 21 years. He was buried in the Damascus Commonwealth War Cemetery. Sold with several accounts of the involvement of the 2nd battalion King’s Own Royal Regiment in the Syrian 1941 campaign against the Vichy French.
