Baltic 1854-55
(A.B., H.M. Gun Boat “Biter”1857), engraved naming; Crimea 1854-56, 2 clasps, Inkermann, Sebastopol (A.B., H.M.S. Trafalgar No.554), engraved naming; Turkish Crimea, Sardinian die, unnamed, replacement ring suspension, good fine and better (3) £250-300

H.M. Gunboat Biter does not appear in the Baltic roll but was present at the bombardment of the fortress of Sveaborg, 9th-11th August 1855. H.M. Gunboat Biter was tender to H.M.S. Hawke and Able Seaman Hopkins is listed on that ship’s roll. Hopkins is confirmed as with the Naval Brigade ashore from H.M.S. Trafalgar in the Crimea.
