Zulu War 1879, Colony of Natal, Exempted from Native Law Medal, silver (Mongena Mokone, 29.10.1879) polished, otherwise nearly very fine and rare £180-220

This medal was instituted by the Colony of Natal after the passing of Law 28 in 1865 whereby certain natives could be exempted from native law. Those awarded in 1879 largely rewarded natives who had remained loyal to Britain during the Zulu War.
