Warrant Officer Ronald MacDonald was a prisoner of war at Offlag 9A at Spangenburg bei Kassel. He was awarded the M.M. (London Gazette 11.10.1945) and Mentioned in Despatches (London Gazette 28.2.1946). He subsequently saw service in Japan and finally joined the Australian Army as a W.O.1.
