China 1857-60, 1 clasp, Taku Forts 1860 (Alexr. Sturgian, 44th Foot), officially impressed naming, slight edge bruising, very fine £100-120

Alexander Sturgian, born in the Parish of Aughloo in County Tyrone, enlisted into the Army in 1854, aged 17 year 10 months. He served with the 44th Regiment in the Crimean War being slightly wounded at Sebastopol, 6.9.1855 and was with them in the China War 1857-60. He was discharged in1865 but re-engaged in India with the 55th Regiment in the same year and was finally discharged in 1876. Sold with copied service papers.
