William Davies was born in Ardwick, Manchester and lived at Greaves, Lancaster. He was killed in action at Gallipoli on 31 May 1915 whilst serving with the 1/8th Battalion, Manchester Regiment. His name is commemorated on the Helles Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.
