Second Lieutenant Ralph Thurlby Barnett was killed in action in France and Flanders on 12 October 1916 at Transloy Ridge, whilst serving with the 3rd Battalion, attached 1st Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers. His name is commemorated on the Theipval Memorial, France.
