Three: Private James B. Carpenter, 9th Lancers

Sutlej 1845-46, for Sobraon 1846 (9th Lancers); Punjab 1848-492 clasps, Chilianwala, Goojerat (9th Lancers); Indian Mutiny 1857-59, 3 clasps, Delhi, Relief of Lucknow, Lucknow (9th Lancers) all fitted with ornately engraved silver ribbon buckles, together with original Royal Hospital Chelsea letter (1865) addressed to ‘James Beckett Carpenter, late 9th Lancers, Invalid Convict Prison, Knapp hill, near Woking, Surrey’ transmitting 2nd Share of Lucknow Prize Money, and a Copy Will from another Lancer bequeathing his possessions to Carpenter, the first two with contact marks, nearly very fine, the last good very fine (3) £1200-1500
