John Stanley Kitt Bennett was born at Burraton, Cornwall, on 22 June 1891, and joined the Metropolitan Police on 24 February 1913. He was awarded the Society’s Bronze Medal and £2 2s. for saving life from a fire at Plashet Road, Upton Park, London E.7. on 27 July 1927. He retired on pension on 27 February 1938 and died on 3 November 1971.
