Denham Richmond Corner was born on 16 May 1911, and educated at the Imperial Service College. After attending the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, he was granted a commission in the Royal Artillery on 29 January 1931, becoming Captain on 29 January 1939, and temporary Major on 28 May 1940. After service in India on the North West Frontier, Corner served during the Second World War in Burma and was latterly in command of the 2nd Indian Anti-Tank Regiment of the 23rd Indian Division. He was awarded the 1953 Coronation Medal and retired as a Lieutenant-Colonel in 1955, his final command being that of 337 H.A.A. Regiment, R.A. (T.A.). Lieutenant-Colonel D. R. Corner died on 10 February 1997. Sold with further research including a signed regimental Christmas card.
