I.D.S.M. Gazette of India 9 December 1933 (G.O. No. 723): ‘For gallantry and devotion to duty near Nim Parao, on the 11th October, 1933.’ This was the only award announced in this Government Order, and one of only 98 Indian Distinguished Service Medals of this type awarded.
