India General Service 1908-35, 1 clasp, North West Frontier 1930-31 (361769 Cpl., R.A.F.); 1939-45 Star; Defence and War Medals; Royal Air Force L.S. & G.C., G.VI.R., 1st type (361769 Sgt., R.A.F.) together with the recipient’s two Pilot’s Flying Log Books for the period May 1926 to August 1931; the lot is also sold with seven albums of photographs mainly relating to India and Egypt with many good photographs of aeroplanes, and two Pilot’s Flying Log Books and other documents belonging to his brother, Sergeant R. A. Allen, R.A.F., for the period March 1929 to February 1933, very fine (5)

Sergeant F. L. Allen flew as crew in Wapiti Bombers on the North West Frontier of India with No. 27 (Bomber) Squadron. His brother, Sergeant R. A. Allen, flew as 1st or 2nd pilot in a variety of Vickers bombers with No. 9 (Bombing) Squadron. The photograph albums are excellent in content, especially of life and incidents with the Royal Air Force in India.
