Three: Sergeant R. G. Vickery, 18th Battalion, Canadian Infantry
1914-15 Star (53168 L.Cpl., 18/Can. Inf.); British War and Victory Medals (53168 Sjt., 18-Can. Inf.), together with a brass Canadian tribute medal in the form of a shield, the obverse with cross and maple leaves between each arm, below ‘International Order of Allied Mothers in Sacrifice’, the reverse inscribed ‘In recognition of Alice Vickery as a Mother in Sacrifice’, suspended from two hinged bars, one inscribed ‘Associated kin of C.E.F. The People of Canada’, the other inscribed ‘Remington Vickery’, with reverse pin fitting and purple velvet ribbon, nearly extremely fine (4)
Sergeant Remington George Vickery was killed in action, France & Flanders, 9 April 1917, aged 22, whilst serving with the 18th Bn. Canadian Infantry. He is buried at Zivy Crater Cemetery, Thelus, France.
