Tibet 1903-04, no clasp (4660 Sergt. W. Holmes, Devon Regt.) contact marks, therefore nearly very fine and rare
Sergeant W. Holmes served in Tibet as Transport Sergeant with the Royal Army Medical Corps. The medal roll is signed by Captain T. H. Stevenson, R.A.M.C., at Fyzabad on 12 August, 1905. He had served previously with the 1st Devons in South Africa where he was present at Elandslaagte and in the Defence of Ladysmith (Q.S.A. with 3 clasps and K.S.A.). Another two, or possibly three, men of the Devon’s also served in Tibet, with the Telegraph Department. Sold with some research.
