O’Brisset, bust of James III left, no legend, field stippled, reverse conjoined busts of James II and Mary of Modena right, 50mm (Woolf 28:1c, illustrated from this piece [not in Sale]; M.I. 216/540 var.). With integral loop for suspension, almost extremely fine and the only known specimen (£300-400)

Bt. Eimer 1980. This piece, and others by O’Brisset in like vein, were believed by Woolf to be Whig creations designed as anti-Jacobite propoganda, denouncing any perceived right of James III to the English throne on the death of Queen Anne
