19th Century, NORFOLK, [Great] Yarmouth, a uniface trial piece in copper, possibly for S. Lessy, arms of the borough, edge plain, 22mm, 4.53gm (UFS p. 133, and pl. 30, this piece).

Very fine, believed the only known example (£50-70)

Ex Vorley. The status of this piece is uncertain, it could pre-date 1820, in which case it might be identified with the 1811 Yarmouth token issues by Hunton and Reynolds. Certainly the foreparts of the lions bear a close likeness to those issues, rather than to those of Lessy.
