A Great War M.C. group of five to Captain W. H. Fisher, North Staffordshire Regiment

Military Cross, G.V.R., the reverse inscribed, ‘Capt. W. H. Fisher, North Staffs. Regt., Somme Battle, July 1916’; 1914 Star; British War Medal (Capt.); Victory Medal (Capt.); French Croix de Guerre 1914-18, bronze palm; together with a companion set of six miniature dress medals, similar to the above but with an additional India General Service 1908-35, G.V.R., 1st type, no clasp, these mounted as worn, the second with erased naming and the third renamed, generally good very fine (11) £280-320

Sold with an Infantry Officer’s Sword in leather scabbard; a pair of binoculars in leather case, the case inscribed in ink, ‘Wm. H. Fisher, 6th North Staff. Regt.’ and also with a list of the areas in which he served, both in France and the Middle and Far East; and a quantity of photographs, mostly of the recipient in uniform, often depicted wearing his ribands; one with him wearing his M.C.
