The B.W.M. to Second Lieutenant (Pilot) K. R. Sayers, No. 23 Squadron, and Royal West Kent Regiment, killed in aerial combat on 9 September 1917

British War Medal (2. Lieut); together with memorial plaque (Keith Raymond Sayers); and illuminated memorial scroll, the plaque and scroll contained in an attractive contemporay gilt-wood glazed frame, extremely fine (3) £180-220

Keith Raymond Sayers, a native of Norton-sub-Hamdon, Somerset was killed in action on 9 September 1917, whilst flying an offensive patrol in a SPAD, three miles east of Poelcappelle. His machine was last seen in combat with three enemy aircraft, subsequently being claimed by Ltn Stapenhorst, of Jasta 11. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial, France.
