France, 1944. France. Resistance, a bronze Art Deco medal by P. Turin, female head of the Republique holding a broken chain, from the same die as lot no.5114 but without date, reverse lines from de Gaulle’s speech, QUOI QU’IL ARRIVE, LA FLAMME DE LA RESISTANCE, etc., named on obverse (Mme E. Terrenoire) and on edge (Hommage du Groupe de la Rue de Lille), 68mm (cf. CGMP p.376;). Extremely fine and very rare, particularly as a named medal (£80-100)
