France, c.1900. France. St Hubert, a uniface cast bronze plaque, signed L.B., St Hubert in the forest with a stag and hunting dogs, F.C.I. below, 140 x 80mm. Good very fine, an unusual hunting plaque (£50-70)

The identity of the artist is uncertain; the cataloguer is tempted to suggest Louis-Alexandre Bottée, though there were several other French medallists with these initials working at the turn of the century. A somewhat similar, but smaller plaque, by Louis Convers, was sold in BDW 13, lot 160
