Henry II (1154-1189), Henry II, Penny, ‘Tealby’ type, Lincoln, Turstain, bust C2, [TVRS–––]N: ON· L·, 1.42gm (Mossop dies Aa and pl.xci, 9, this coin; SNC May 1966, no.10, this coin; BMC 437 [London], same dies; N 957; S 1339). Legends partly flat, otherwise about very fine, a rare moneyer (£60-80)

From a find at Corné, near Angers, France, c.1930, part of which was acquired by Spink in 1966; ex Elmore Jones (1717, part). The weight given for this coin by Mossop (1.46gm) is slightly overstated
