18th Century, Ireland, 18th Century: Co Wexford, Gorey, imitation Hibernian Mine Halfpenny, 1792, reads HLFPENNY (DH 18). Obverse better than fine, exhibiting the same weaknesses as the DH plate coin, reverse fine, with the same die flaw across H of cypher as the DH plate coin but better centred, with DUBLIN almost completely visible, extremely rare (£100-150)

The first specimen that the cataloguer has handled in commerce; in far superior condition to the specimen in the ‘Dublinia’ Collection (lot 220)
