Vespasian, Sestertius, Rome, reverse spes avgvsta s.c. Spes offering flower to Vespasian standing right, flanked by Titus & Domitian (RIC 462, C 514). Very rare, green patina, good fine (£100-120)

These two coins struck in AD70 & 71 at the beginning of Vespasian’s reign introduced the Roman people to its new Flavian dynasty as the hope and the renewal of Rome
