The 2nd Battalion, Royal Irish Fusiliers, served in Palestine after the War, but did not serve in France during the Normandy campaign, nor as a unit in Malaya. It would suggest that Fusilier Westell served with another unit in order to gain his France and Germany Star and Malaya clasp.
