Private Cecil Lee served with the Foresters in Palestine before transferring to the 4th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment for service during the Second World War. He was killed in action on 25 June 1944, during the opening stages of the battle of the River Oden, when the regiment lost 11 killed and 64 wounded.
