Only 8 medals issued to the Royal Navy with these two clasps.

Henry Duck was born in Portsmouth, Hants, on 10 May 1852. He joined the service as a Stoker 2nd Class aboard H.M.S. ASIA on 19 May 1873, drafted to ACTIVE (2 October 1873 to 12 April 1877) without earning either the Ashantee or South Africa campaign medals. He was advanced to Stoker on 1 October 1874, and subsequently served aboard CYGNET (1880-83) in which he was present at the bombardment of Alexandria in July 1882. He next joined RACER (21 January 1888 to 10 May 1889) and earned the ‘Gemaizah’ clasp, and advanced to Leading Stoker in October 1888. He joined his last ship, AUSTRALIA (1889-93), prior to being pensioned to shore on 23 November 1893. On two occasions during his career he lost Good Conduct Badges, hence no L.S. & G.C. award.
