Distinguished Flying Cross, G.VI.R., the reverse officially dated ‘1945’; 1939-45 Star; Air Crew Europe Star, clasp, France and Germany; Defence and War Medals, the D.F.C. and medals all privately named (196137 P/O 186 Squad. R.A.F.V.R.) good very fine (5)

William Alexander Rowe was a Wireless Operator/Air Gunner, and was commissioned from the ranks after a first tour of operations with Bomber Command. He was involved in a bad crash which resulted in a fractured spine but this did not preclude him from a second tour of operations.
