M.M. London Gazette 13 March 1918. The regimental history confirms the award of the M.M. to Rifleman Chivers for his part in the destruction of an evacuated allied post and dugouts which were about to be overrun by the enemy.
Despatches twice London Gazette 10 May 1945 and 8 November 1945 ‘for gallant and distinguished services in North West Europe.’
