D.C.M. London Gazette 8 July 1941. ‘This man has been conspicuous throughout the campaign. In particular on the 6th Feb, when his gun had been knocked out and his detachment all killed or wounded, he went, under intense fire, to take charge of another gun, whose detachment had also been knocked out. Laying and firing the gun himself he destroyed five enemy tanks.’
