Military Cross London Gazette 26 November 1917. ‘For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty as signalling Officer, after his lines were cut and his men had become casualties, he personally mended the wires, under fire, and so kept up communication.’
Lieutenant P. Laffan, Royal Dublin Fusiliers, served Gallipoli 25 April-22 September 1915, France and Belguim 22 March-16 October 1916 and 12 June 1917-16 February 1918, wounded twice.
