Trevor Frank Kirk Bonner entered the Royal Navy as an Acting Sub Lieutenant (L) on 1 January 1955. Confirmed in this rank in June 1955 and promoted to Lieutenant on 1 January 1956. He was a direct entry from University and an Electrical Specialist Officer on the General List. Discharged from the Royal Navy 13 February 1959 as ‘Medically Unfit’, having served aboard H.M.S. COLLINGWOOD (1955), H.M.S. WHIRLWIND (1956) and H.M.S. MATCHLESS (1958).
