British War and Victory Medals (15293 Pte., W. Rid. R.); together with memorial plaque (George Davidson); and a large studio portrait of recipient in uniform, this contained in a contemporary elaborate oak glazed display frame, 60cm by 69cm, nearly extremely fine (3) £80-100

George Davidson was born at Nelson, Lancashire end enlisted at Colne, Lancashire. He was killed in action on the Somme at Contalmaison on 7 July 1916, whilst serving with the 9th Battalion, Duke of Wellington’s West Riding Regiment. Sold with copy of battalion war diary for the period 1-10 July 1916.
