Caterpillar Club, gold Caterpillar badge with ruby eyes, the reverse inscribed (Sgt. Pilot W. T. F. Hutcheson) together with original named Caterpillar Club membership card, nearly extremely fine (2) £250-300

Sergeant Pilot W. T. F. Hutcheson served with No. 242 (Spitfire) Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. He became legible for membership of the Caterpillar Club on 12 November 1942 during operation Torch in North Africa, when his engine cut and he had to bale out into the sea. As a result of this jump he slightly injured his knee and was sent to hospital in Algiers. Sold with copy from Operations Record Book.
