Robert Dawson was born in the Parish of St Margaret’s, King’s Lynn, Norfolk, and enlisted for the 9th Foot at Great Yarmouth on 23 May 1877, aged 18 years 6 months. He had previously served in the West Norfolk Militia, and served in the East Indies from September 1878 until December 1883. He was discharged on 28 May 1889, having completed his twelve year engagement. Sold with copy discharge papers.
