William III (1694-1702), Shilling, 1697 C (Chester), first bust, shields of Scotland and Ireland transposed (ESC 1097). Good fine, shields above English and French arms with adjustment marks, extremely rare (£200-250)

ESC 1097-R4 (eleven to twenty examples). In the view of the cataloguers, probably tending towards the lower end of this assessment of extant coins. Probably one of the best surviving examples; the Lord Hamilton coin (21 February, 1979, lot 243, ex Jackson Kent, described as almost fine) sold for £150.
