Edward VI (1547-1553), Third Period, Halfcrown, 1551, m.m. y, horse with plume on head, 22.73gm (N. 1934; S. 2479). Apparently a striking in lead from the official dies, obverse fine, reverse very fine, very rare and unusual (£100-200)

The apparent purpose of this piece is unclear, unless it be some kind of die trial; the reverse appears to have been carefully centred in the making. One suspects the heavy weight of the coin would have mitigated against it circulating contemporaneously
