Spain, Proclamation of the Political Constitution of the Spanish Monarchy, Cadiz, 1812, a bronze medal by F. Sagau, laureate bust of Ferdinand VII right, rev. standing figures representing the Old and New Worlds, holding an open book propped on two globes, 56mm (Vives 290; BDM V, 296; Wurz. 2082); Exposicion Publica al Merito en las Artes, 1828/7, a bronze medal signed M.G.S., laureate bust of Ferdinand VII right, rev. legend in wreath, 39mm; Exposicion Publica del Ano de 1860, a bronze medal signed G.F., coronetted bust of Isabel II left, rev. implements of commerce and industry, steam locomotive at right, 41mm; Duque de Tetuan’s Victory in Morocco, 1860, a bronze medal, unsigned [perhaps by Pomar], arms on mantle, rev. legend, 48mm (Wurz. 8726) [4]. Last about very fine, others about extremely fine and better but first with hairline scratches in obverse field; all patinated (£70-100)

Leopoldo O’Donnell, Duque de Tetuan (1809-67), Spanish general who was governor of Cuba from 1844-8, then prime minister of Spain in 1856, 1858-63 and 1865-6; in 1859-60 he led a successful expedition against Morocco and was bestowed with the title Duque de Tetuan by Isabel II.

The second item is unusual in that it shows an overdate on a medal
