18th century, Middlesex, W. Till, Halfpenny, man hanging, rev. man and monkey, each standing on one leg, edge plain, 9.90g/12h (DH 836). A later striking from rusty dies, graze to right of hanging man, otherwise extremely fine and bronzed, rare (£100-150)

The originals were made by W.J. Taylor c.1839; this restrike could be as late as 1860-70
