James Pinnegar enlisted in the 34th battalion, C.E.F., at Guelph, 14 April, 1915, and served in France with the 16th battalion and laer the Canadian Army Medical Corps. He received a gunshot wound in the right knee in June 1916 and, after convalescing in England, returned to France the following August. In April 1917, however, he was again severely wounded by a gunshot in the left forearm, and served the remainder of the war with the Canadian Army Medical Corps. According to his death certificate he died at Windsor, Ontario, on 6 January, 1928.
