Served on the Staff in South Africa and was present at the Relief of Ladysmith, including action at Colenso; operations on Tugela Heights (14 to 27 Feb.) and action at Pieter’s Hill. Operations in Natal, March to April 1900; Operations in Cape Colony, north of Orange River, including action at Ruidam. Operations in Transvaal 30 Nov. 1900 to April 1901; Operations in Orange River Colony, Feb. to 31 May 1902.
