1914 Star (9902 Pte. F. Blackburn, 1/W.York.R.) very fine

Private Frederick Blackburn served in France with 1st West Yorks. Regiment from 10 September, 1914, until evacuated due to wounds. On recovery he was posted to 9th (Service) battalion, York & Lancaster Regiment, serving with 8th Infantry Division. He was awarded the Military Medal London Gazette 16 August, 1917, and a Second Award Bar London Gazette 29 March, 1918, the bar for Italy.
